Your desk will be constructed of cherry, 60"L x 30"D x 30"H, with a leather
writing surface.  It will have through mortise-and-tenon joinery as well as
exposed dovetails.  An additional file drawer unit can be made that will attach
below the drawer section.  There will be additional costs for materials and
shop time if you choose this option.  If you wish to construct the additional
file drawer unit at home, the additional cost will be for materials and planning
time only.  There is an extremely large amount of hand detailing on this
project, so it is impossible to calculate the speed at which everyone will work.
I have given an educated guess at completion in December.  If we are not
completed at that time, participants will have the option to attend additional
shop time, charged per hour, to complete this project.

If sharpening skills are lacking at all, please sign up for the sharpening
class in the Basic Woodworking series.

Cost:  $3650 (materials included)

Ebony Sideboard

Above: "This is one of the most challenging pieces I have ever built during my woodworking career." This piece is a solid ebony, block-piece sideboard with walnut secondary wood, 96" x 25.5" x 32." The top is 1.75" solid ebony. The drawers in center section are hand-dovetailed and have bookmatched solid ebony drawer fronts. Learn more about this ebony sideboard.
